I had already written a 5000 character review on this, but the page reloaded and deleted it, so here is a condensed version.

To be completely clear, this product is not meant to stop someone from taking your firearm when it is separate from you. If somebody wants to take your firearm badly enough, they will just pick up the entire box and run off with it when you're not around. You CAN deter someone from doing this with a security cable, but that will not stop someone if they happen to have bolt cutters or another medium duty tool that has a similar purpose. This box is meant to stop children or others from accessing your firearm without your knowledge, while still allowing you quick access in the event it that you need it. If you are looking for something that will restrict access to your firearm AND is difficult for the average Joe to steal and open at his leisure later on, get a gun safe instead.

The lock is effective without requiring external keys, biometrics, or a pinpad. That means no key to lose or misplace, and no batteries to die when you need your firearm in a dire situation.

The lock is entirely mechanical, and you can change the combination of buttons to your heart's desire. Changing the combination on your stop box is literally as simple as opening the box, disengaging the mechanism(press the small button next to the metal slider), removing the tiny Phillips head screw from the button you want to change, placing the new button into that slot, putting the screw into the new button, and re-engaging the mechanism(hold combination buttons, press mechanism button again). Simple, fast, effective. Learning the opening process is quick and relatively painless. Push down with your palm, press the combination buttons and thumb key inwards, release palm and lift lid, release keys. I had it pretty well down within 60 minutes of setting up my combination. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with arthritis in their hands, as they may find the process difficult or painful.

The Stopbox Pro will fit any standard-sized handgun. It comfortably fits my Kimber 1911 .45(5" Barrel) with the slide locked rearward, while still having space for 3 additional magazines outside of the firearm. Closing the slide lets me fit a 4th magazine outside the firearm. I only own 3 magazines, but I have done my measurements, so just trust me on that.

I haven't travelled with it yet, but looking over TSA guidelines, it does appear to be TSA compliant thanks to the padlock hole on the thumb key. It's definitely lightweight enough that it likely would not be a hassle to carry individually or with additional luggage.

My cat has pushed it off the nightstand a couple times with no real damage occurring. Lock mechanism stayed tight, firearm stayed secure with minimal sliding inside the box. The inside padding is of acceptable quality.

Overall, an effective product that fulfills its niche as a barrier between children, guests, or other unauthorized individuals, and your firearm while maintaining speed+ease of access for those who need it. 9/10.

I use this in the car and in the house for times when I need to take my gun out of the holster and secure it. So fast to access without worrying about batteries, codes or biometrics. I now have six stop boxes and have recommended to others.

This is a well-made product. The hinges, body and locking mechanism are all on par with each other, meaning that there is no weak link. First let’s make sure we all know what this product isn’t. It Isn’t a “gun safe”. It is not going to stop someone from stealing your weapon when you’re not around, even with the cable. (At least it’s not going to stop someone with my skillset). However, that’s not what its purpose is. Having one of these replaces leaving your weapon lying around in your house where you can easily get to it, along with anyone else. I won’t list the many scenarios this encompasses here.
The box is easy and fast to get open. You can open it in complete darkness. You can open it with one hand if it’s lying on a flat surface, of course you can open it with both hands if you’re holding it. You do have to practice opening the StopBox to get the muscle memory to open it in a high stress situation. This took me about a week of opening it 8-10 times a day (I just set it out on the counter and opened it every time I walked by) even though I set what I feel is a more complex and un-natural feeling combination.
One critique I have is that you have to open the StopBox with your right hand. I’m right-handed and think that opening the box with your left hand so your right hand could grab the weapon would be a bit faster. This is not a deal breaker however.
The main reason I bought this though, was to take my pistol when I travel by air. The StopBox is more compact that the case I was using. As of this writing my upcoming flight hasn’t left yet so I can’t say what the Airline will have to say about it. I’m going to call them Monday just to be sure.
I was impressed enough to order two more StopBoxs with the current sale they’re running. I now have one full size and two compacts. I’ll probably get a chamber lock too, but not until they go on sale......BTW site wouldn't let me upload a video (mp4)
